CERTIFIED DIVER
3 day / 2 night Certified Diver package includes:

  • 8 day dives and 2 night dives (10 in total)
  • all dive equipment with the exception of wetsuits ($5 per day to hire) and dive torches ($5 hire fee per dive).

LEARN TO DIVE- Personalised Open Water
3 day / 2 night course as follows:

This course is a personalised open water learn to dive course for the 3 days / 2 nights on board the Reef Encounter.

What is it?...... An SSI Open water Certification.

The Personalised Open Water Dive Course is ideal for people who have previously experienced the pleasures of breathing underwater, so that they feel completely comfortable in the water.....

Benefits include:

8 pleasure dives are combined with 6 skills sessions over a 3 day / 2 night period on Reef Encounter. This ensures all candidates have 8 recreational dives on the Great Barrier Reef...

There's no pools, no classrooms  - learn by experience under the watchful eye of your instructor with only 3 other students... Personalised.... Safer..... More Fun.....Attention to detail....

Procedure:

  • You need to go the Reef Encounter office (very close to the group hotel) and pick up a study guide and theory book (they require a $30.00 deposit for the manual). Ideally, you would have completed chapters 1-4 prior to arriving onboard Reef Encounter - the questions are quite simple.  The theory is fun and easy to learn, you won't have to spend days grinding away to pass the exam.
  • students can do a minimum of 6 dives or a maximum of 8 dives, it's up to you.

We suggest you book an additional pre tour night in Cairns (arrive 9 June) so you have a more relaxed pace to study the material. Then you sit an exam in the Reef Encounter office, or alternatively you can do your theory and exam on board the boat.... As long as you have completed theory and exam by the time you depart off Reef Encounter...

You will need 2 passport size photos for your certification provided at the end of your course.
