From Cairns - approximately 1.5 hours to Hamilton Island.

BY ROAD
The Whitsundays can be accessed by the Bruce Highway (Cairns to Brisbane). Dependant on conditions,
driving time from Brisbane is approximately 12 hours north to Airlie
Beach and Shute Harbour and 8 hours south from Cairns. Regular coach
services also operate into Airlie Beach. Secure Car Parking is available

BY RAIL
Regular daily train services depart from Brisbane, heading North and
from Cairns and Townsville heading South to Proserpine Rail Station. On arrival to Proserpine, you will need to organise your travel from Prosperine to Shute Harbour where you can arrange a boat transfer from Shute Harbour to Hamilton Island for a connection to Lindeman Island.
