Marlborough Sounds & Abel Tasman Walk, NZ
For SINGLE WALKERS 40 to 65 Years
Saturday 19 to Sunday 27 February 2011
A spectacular seven day trekking tour, fully lodge accommodated starting and finishing in Christchurch. Hike the beautiful coastal and lakeside trails of the upper South Island and explore the remote and beautiful tussocklands of the South Island highcountry.
The dramatic peninsula at Kaikoura provides a great costal hike and the start of the walk. Then, the spectacular Marlborough Sounds are home to Queen Charlotte track and its water taxi access, while across the bay the Abel Tasman walkway weaves its magic through small bays and beautiful bush. From coastal hikes we head inland to Nelson Lakes and a circular track that provides a view from high on a lakeside peak. Our return home is via a private remote backcountry road eventually bringing us to Hanmer Springs and the famous hot pools before returning to Christchurch that evening.
JUST ANNOUNCED.
